my skills are...
I apply an editor’s eye to everything I do. Whether a quick email or an official report, I’m going to check it at least three times. I have five years’ experience developing, formatting, reviewing and finalizing corporate marketing materials, curricula and websites, and two years’ experience as the Editor-in-Chief for gnovis, Georgetown’s academic journal of Communication, Culture & Technology. As a Research Associate in the Communications & Society Program at the Aspen Institute, I currently provide editorial assistance for materials produced for the Trust, Media & Democracy project commissioned by the Knight Foundation.

I’m a people person. I also love process design and systems organization. I view leadership as an opportunity to combine those passions in a dynamic and creative way through interpersonal collaboration. I’ve managed teams in at least three different industries, from 3 to 300 people in size, and for extended, short-term and one-off projects. I’ve got more than two years’ experience in hiring, five years in budget and revenues management and over 125 events under my belt. As the Editor-in-Chief of gnovis, I improved budget spending by 16%, initiated and developed six collaborations with other Georgetown organizations and helped earn a financial grant from Georgetown’s Graduate School.
I’m incredibly curious. And a hard-worker. I consider every job I’ve ever held an opportunity to perform hands-on research and expand my knowledge. It’s through research that I find understanding of the things I’ve never experienced and solutions to the problems I face. I’ve spent my life researching Italian culture and language, a year understanding the grocery industry and two years collecting practical research skills, such as statistics and data analytics as a graduate student. As a Research Associate at the Aspen Institute, I’m currently applying my skills and experience in my research on American journalism and democracy to understand and improve our rapidly evolving media ecosystem.
I think life is just nicer when things look and work the way we want them. I suppose design can mean many things to many people, but for me, it means understanding content and then communicating it in an clear, simple and visually-appealing way. That’s what I aimed to achieve in the five website redesigns I’ve managed, the continual marketing materials I produce, and the grid layouts I develop—whether for work, school or just for fun. Design for me is a passion and a hobby, and at the root of everything I do.
